Dyrfinna Hildibrandsdottir — 16th Century Florentine Dress and Men’s Doublet

Up until now, I’ve focused on a Norse persona and learning to make clothing in that style (straight lines and rectangles—yay!). In February, however, the Barony of Settmour Swamp will be hosting a late 16th‑century Venetian Carnevale Immersion event, which I’ll be supporting.

As a result, I’ve begun sewing outfits for both myself and my husband. While the ensembles aren’t yet complete, I’ve made steady progress—particularly in learning pad stitching and hand‑worked eyelets. This project marks my first attempt at both techniques, and though the process is slow, it’s coming along nicely.
