Yarn: Falkland wool, hand spun on an Ashford Traditional loom, 3 ply to a yarn that is bulky.
Stitch type: Oslo stitch.
Knee high hose, very warm for winter!
This was the 4th set of socks I have nalbound, respectively. I am still working on getting sizing to be consistent, but these turned out to be a perfect fit for me. It is much easier to make them for yourself when you can try them on in progress to see where increases or decreases need to be.
I have yet to wear them to an event as they are too warm for anything above freezing temperatures. They would definitely keep you warm in the winters of Northern Europe.
Next time I make some socks, I plan to use thinner yarn and the Finnish 2+2 stitch. I like the Oslo stitch for the thicker yarn but with thinner yarn more complex stitches produce a nicer denser fabric.
