This is a tablet woven silk laurel fillet brocaded in gold thread.  I hand-dyed the silk in indigo and weld, and devised a pattern of laurel leaves imitating period examples to come as close to a 14th century aesthetic as possible.  The center is set with a star sapphire, alluding to the wearer’s heraldry.

  1. Wonderful! The Colors are lovely and looks so intricate. Thank you for sharing with the Kingdom.

  2. Great job on the dyeing and pattern. I can tell this took many hours or dedication to create.

  3. I’m just floored by all the many and varied arts you undertake. This piece is beautifully crafted, as are all the other things you create!
